Hmmm... in looking for information about converting whole bean and ground coffee measures (I was unable to get a clear answer from the internets -- can anyone help?) I found this weird fakey website. It concerns me that "Pioneer Thinking" includes explaining the difference between sherbet and sorbet. Also, if pressed or boiled coffee is your greatest cholesterol concern, you're really doing ok. "Kahweol and cafestol", indeed. Harrumph. Oh, yes, and diet has something to do with diabetes.
One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies, 66 Scener Fra Amerika. It's hard to find a copy, so I'm glad at least one of the segments has found its way to youtube. Thanks Fenton 'n' Randy! The way people eat says so much about them, and this kind of says everything you need to know about AW.
Perhaps we can license "Darts of Pleasure" to be the official Epifurious theme song...
UPDATE: IFC says this post doesn't make any sense without context.
So, the holiday season in NYC can quickly turn the epicure to a contrarian. Suddenly, everyone is eating rich foods all the time. Everyone is enjoying delicious drinks. Everyone is staying out too late. Everyone is maintaining a BAC of around 1.0. What fun is it if everybody's doing it?
I work in television and write about politics and culture.
